Gatwick to Heathrow Transfer
Direct private car from Gatwick to Heathrow. Both Gatwick terminals, all Heathrow terminals. Fixed price, no surprises.
Reliable Gatwick to Heathrow Car Service
A Gatwick to Heathrow transfer with BA Transfer takes about 70 minutes and covers 46 miles (74 km) via the M25. Fixed fares start from £95 for a saloon, with estate, executive, MPV and 8-seater options. Every booking includes live flight tracking, free waiting time and meet-and-greet — we collect from both Gatwick terminals and drop at any Heathrow terminal, 24/7.
The Gatwick to Heathrow transfer is one of the busiest inter-airport journeys in the UK. Thousands of passengers cross between London's two largest airports every week — many connecting between flights booked on separate tickets, some repositioning for a cruise from Southampton or Dover, others simply switching airline or airport. There is no direct train between the two airports, and the National Express coach is timetabled at 90 minutes or more before traffic, so a fixed-price private car has become the natural choice for anyone travelling with luggage, on a tight connection, or as a group.
BA Transfer runs this route 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We collect from both Gatwick terminals — North and South — and drop at any Heathrow terminal (2, 3, 4 or 5), with no surcharge for the terminal you need. Your driver tracks your inbound flight in real time and adjusts the pickup automatically if you land early or late, so a delayed arrival never means a missed car or an extra charge.
How long does the Gatwick to Heathrow journey take?
The drive is around 46 miles (74 km) and typically takes about 70 minutes via the M25 clockwise. Traffic between the Gatwick junctions and the M4/M25 interchange near Heathrow can add time at peak periods, so if you are connecting to an onward flight we build in a sensible buffer — and recommend you do too. See the connection guidance below.
Fixed prices — what's included
Every Gatwick to Heathrow fare is fixed and confirmed when you book. There is no meter, no per-bag charge and no terminal surcharge. Prices start from £95 for a saloon, with larger vehicles available:
- Saloon — up to 3 passengers and 2 large cases, from £95
- Estate — extra luggage space, from £105
- MPV — up to 6–7 passengers, from £122
- Executive — Mercedes E-Class or similar, from £143
- 8-seater — large group or lots of luggage, from £143
Each booking includes live flight tracking, free waiting time, meet-and-greet at arrivals, and all tolls and fees. What you see at checkout is what you pay.
Connecting between flights — how much time to allow
If your Gatwick and Heathrow flights are on separate tickets (a self-transfer), you are responsible for collecting your bags at Gatwick, travelling to Heathrow and checking in again. Allow time for the 70-minute drive plus bag reclaim at Gatwick and check-in, bag drop and security at Heathrow — most airlines close bag drop 60 minutes before departure, and long-haul carriers often earlier. As a rule of thumb, allow at least 5–6 hours between landing at Gatwick and your onward departure from Heathrow for international connections, and more during the morning peak. If your bags are through-checked to your final destination you will still need to clear UK immigration if you are entering the country.
Terminals we cover
Pickup from Gatwick North Terminal or Gatwick South Terminal — just tell us which one when you book. Drop-off at Heathrow Terminal 2 (the Queen's Terminal), Terminal 3, Terminal 4 or Terminal 5. If you are not sure which Heathrow terminal your airline uses, our Heathrow terminal guide lists every airline, and the Gatwick terminal guide does the same for your arrival.
Vehicles, luggage and child seats
Travelling with extra bags, sports equipment or a pushchair? Choose an estate or MPV so everything fits comfortably, or our 8-seater for groups of up to eight. Child seats are available — free on our MPV vehicles and £10 each on an estate; they can't be fitted to a saloon or executive car, so for two or more seats we will recommend an MPV. Just add the number of seats when you book.

Frequently Asked questions
Everything you need to know about our Heathrow Airport, London, TW6 1QG transfer service.
QHow long does a Gatwick to Heathrow transfer take?
The drive is about 70 minutes, covering roughly 46 miles (74 km) via the M25. Your driver allows extra time at busy periods, so if you are connecting between flights you have a comfortable buffer.
QHow much does a Gatwick to Heathrow transfer cost?
Fixed prices start from £95 for a saloon. An estate is from £105, an MPV (up to 6–7 passengers) from £122, and an executive car or 8-seater from £143. The price is confirmed when you book — no meter, no per-bag fee and no terminal surcharge.
QDo you pick up from both Gatwick terminals?
Yes — we collect from both Gatwick North and Gatwick South, at no extra charge. Just tell us which terminal you land at and we will meet you there.
QWhich Heathrow terminal do you drop at?
Any of them — Terminal 2, 3, 4 or 5. Give us your onward flight or terminal when you book and we will drop you at the right one. Not sure which? See our Heathrow terminal guide.
QWhat happens if my Gatwick flight is delayed?
We track your inbound flight in real time and adjust the pickup automatically if you land early or late. Waiting time is included, and there is no rebooking fee for a delay.
QIs the Gatwick to Heathrow service available 24/7?
Yes. We operate around the clock, every day of the year, including early-morning and overnight connections. You can pre-book any time online.
QHow much time should I allow between connecting flights?
If your flights are on separate tickets, allow enough time for the 70-minute drive plus bag reclaim at Gatwick and check-in, bag drop and security at Heathrow — usually at least 5–6 hours between landing and your onward international departure, and more in the morning peak.
QDo you provide meet and greet?
Yes. Your driver waits at Gatwick arrivals with a name board and helps with your luggage to the car. Everything is arranged in advance so there is nothing to sort out on the day.
QCan I bring extra luggage or travel as a group?
Yes. Choose an estate for extra cases, an MPV for up to 6–7 passengers, or our 8-seater for larger groups and lots of luggage. Let us know your passenger and bag count when booking so we send the right vehicle.
QCan I add child or baby seats?
Yes — child seats are free on our MPV vehicles and £10 each on an estate. They cannot be fitted to a saloon or executive car, so if you need two or more seats we will recommend an MPV. Add the number of seats when you book.
